The brand new Active Guide is the UK’s only online ‘one stop shop’ for information, activities and services in the outdoors. The Active Guide (TAG) - www.theactiveguide.com hosts a wealth of information about more than 3,500 outdoor businesses, locations and services around the country.
Whether you are exploring the great outdoors for the first time, or are just getting going, TAG offers the right advice, top tips and guidance from genuine experts. Thousands of outdoor businesses, walks and activity locations are featured on the Active Map, helping more people enjoy walking, mountain biking, camping, caravanning, climbing, watersports and a wide range of other outdoor activities wherever they are spending their holidays.
At the heart of TAG is the Activity Generator, an interactive mapping tool that helps you find suitable outdoor adventures to try out. You can pre-select a preferred destination and the kind of activity that matches your experience and ambition using a range of options, from ‘burning calories’ and ‘with all the family’ to ‘scare myself stupid’ and ‘getting away from it all’. The Adventure Generator then presents a map with details of locations and attractions that fit the description, giving you a helping hand as you plan your outdoor itineraries.
Another great feature of TAG is that it allows you to upload your own favourite outdoor experiences and share them with everyone else. You can also rate the locations and activities already featured on the site, posting reviews of what you have particularly enjoyed, whether that’s a family bike ride, white-water canoeing route or a gentle walk that offers particularly good opportunities to take landscape photos.
